What to write in a Mother's Day card
Share
Sometimes, Mother's Day cards can be challenging to write! There's limited space in a card, and just so much to say. That's how amazing mothers and mother figures are. They do so much, and they leave such a big impact in our lives; it's hard to fit everything we want to say in a card.

There is no "right" way to write a card, but I do find that reflecting deeply on the relationship helps me write sincerely and intentionally! Whether you're writing a card to your own mother, grandmother, sister, friend, or mother figure in your life, your thoughtful handwritten words of thanks will surely uplift them and make them feel appreciated!
What to write
Here are some ideas/questions I like to reflect on when writing a Mother's Day card:
- What is a unique way they support me as a mother? How can I acknowledge and express my appreciation?
- What is a fond memory I have with them during this past year?
- Is there something they do/did that deserves praise and celebration?
- Could they use encouragement? Whatever season of motherhood they are in, what kind of encouragement can I share?
If you're staring at your blank card and feeling overwhelmed with all the things you want to say, I hope these reflection questions help give you a place to start. And I hope our Mother's Day cards help you celebrate and honor all the amazing mothers in your life!
